Brett is a voice actor... voice talent, voiceover specialist, vocal artist, or whatever your little heart desires to call these outspoken individuals today. As he started his journey into this fun and artistic career he pooled knowledge from some of the greatest talent around and he’d have to say two of the most inspirational quotes he’s hung onto thus far are; "It's voice Acting, little v big A" and "I am." Don't worry, he’ll fill you in on where he first heard those quotes in some blogs later on, but for now, here’s a little bit about this pretty chill voice you're about to collaborate with.
Born and raised in Colorado, quite the landlocked state, a decent ways away from Hollywood, dreams of being an actor early on felt a little out of reach. So he did what a lot of artists do with an itch they don't quite know how to scratch, he vetted to use anything he could to scratch it. As a young kid, he loved to draw and did so whenever he could. He would also emulate the voices he grew to love from cartoons and movies to get the people around him to smile and laugh; he went so far to start his own little radio show on his toy cassette recorder. He even wrote stories telling of vast adventures and heroic tales. He dabbled in the musical arts as well like the trumpet, drums, and guitar; not quite his cup of tea unfortunately. In college, after quite a few detours, he eventually took a crack at learning animation, the one thing he was sure was his go to desire. It was a blast and he was pretty decent at it, unfortunately life just didn't think that was his right course. Nearly 30 years on the planet and he was really lost and stuck, but finally the universe got him onto the right track, even if it had to drag him through the dirt kicking and screaming.
He started out with some coaching, got overwhelmed with things he didn't know that he didn't know, got sick (lost his voice for three months), and then got inspired. Here he is now, doing things he loves to do like improv, acting, and voiceover. He can most definitely say he is Chyrfully ('cheerfully' - it's a pun and educational) Sound in this crazy world we live in and he cannot wait to help breathe life into your projects.
